Heliocentrism

Heliocentrism was born out of the rejection of Earth-centrism, a strong opinion rooted in the ancient world. This means that all celestial bodies revolve around the Sun. Although this view was first proposed by the Greek thinker Aristachus, it was suppressed. Accordingly, Nicholas Copernicus, a Polish priest, gave new life to the heliocentric view and presented it in a way that suits modern science.
